Love LEE Chair Giveaway & REstyleSOURCE!

Last year we partnered with REstyleSOURCE, a national guide to local shops, businesses and restaurants. Their goal is to reconnect shoppers with local stores. They have built an amazing website with gorgeous images of design projects with easy to access information on the pieces in the project and where you can buy them locally. If you haven't checked them out, please do -- you'll be glad you did! www.restylesource.com

Lee Industries, one of our wonderful upholstered furniture manufacturers, also partnered with REstyleSOURCE and has developed some fabulous promotions to help support their local dealers. Right now they have a super fun "Love LEE" chair giveaway allowing customers to enter to win their favorite Lee chair from a local Lee dealer. If you're not on Instagram, now is the time! Such a fun and easy way to enter to win a fantastic piece of furniture made by Lee Industries!

Here are the details -- GOOD LUCK!

Another holiday season, another 4 months away from blogging!

I've just now come to accept that the blog will fall by the wayside during the last few months of each year and the beginning of the next. Last year I was MIA from the blog during the same time and talked about it in my first post of 2012 which also happened to be in February. So from now on, I'll just accept a little departure for 4-5 months during our busiest time of year at the store until the time comes when there are more hands on deck and we aren't all wearing so many hats (lots of euphemisms there).

To kick off the beginning of our 2013 posts, I thought I'd do a little recap of what I might have posted about during the last 4-5 months. We look forward to getting back into the swing of posting!

 1. Our October Trip to High Point was full of wonderful finds, including these fabulous lamps from Jamie Young.
2. In December we were invited to decorate a mantel for the Oakton Design House. This is a picture of our before and after.
3. Arrivals from Sugarboo that we found at the Atlanta market in January.
4. Our first Christmas Tree of the season was up in late October!
5. This year we introduced the headboard program from Lee Industries. So many options to create the perfect look for your bedroom.
6. Spicy Apple Candles from Rosy Rings always signify the beginning of fall when they arrive.
7. Our unofficial store mascot, Clyde, dressed and ready to go for Halloween.
8. The Spring 2013 introduction from Sid Dickens at the Atlanta market.
9. Emerald, Pantone's 2013 color of the year was incorporated into many design styles at market.
10. Our store manager Jenny with our friend Aladdin on the magic carpet at the Atlanta Market.
11. We went a little pillow crazy in Atlanta and this is just one of the new collections we've brought in.
12. We ended one of our days in Atlanta with a visit from Llama Llama Red Pajama.
13. One of our fall in store vignettes featuring the seasonal colors of brown and orange.
14. We introduced the Gat Creek line of domestic made furniture to the store (coffee table shown here) at the end of the year.

Adorable New Baby Arrivals!

We've received some wonderful shipments of new styles from some of our tried and true baby lines and are so excited to share them with you!

From Trumpette, five fantastic new offerings arrived today of their set of 6 baby socks including Jenny's, Olivia's, Benny's, Cowboy and Rosie's. (Jenny's & Olivia's shown top left)

From Swaddle Designs, maker of what I have to say are the absolute best swaddle blankets on the planet, are colorways of 3 new patterns including adorable chicks, owls and sparklers. (Shown top right and bottom center)

From Sugarbooger, we received "Cupcakes" a new pattern of divided plates, utensils and sippy cups (these are great gifts for the older brother or sister when a new baby arrives -- always so nice for the parents to have a little something for them to open when the new baby is getting all of the attention). (Plate shown bottom left)

Finally, from 3 Sprouts, we have introduced two new storage bin styles including the Unicorn and Dragon and we also now have their wonderfully useful hanging storage organizers. (Storage bins shown bottom left)

We hope you'll stop in soon to see everything in person and let us help you pick out a baby gift that is sure to please!

Our Woven Wally Lives at Reese Witherspoon's House Too!

Last year I started following a really fun blog called "Hooked On Houses." My husband is actually the one who told me about the blog, which he found while doing a Google search on the house in the movie "Something's Gotta Give." I (along with many other people) have always commented about how much I love both the house and the interior design for the movie set. He has a habit of often going straight to Wikipedia or Google after we watch a movie to get more "facts" so this time it worked out in my favor (I'm not into "facts" so much) and I found the Hooked on Houses blog. They had a great post about the house in the movie which led me deeper into the blog to find it also often features open houses from around the country. Some of the open houses are fantastic, some are hilarious and some are from her actual readers.

So, onto the point of this blog posting, today's Hooked On Houses post features Reese Witherspoon's "retreat" in Ojai, California. Her home is absolutely gorgeous! It's a terrific blog post and includes many images that will be featured in the September issue of Elle Decor Magazine.

One of my favorite images of the home also includes one of my favorite items that we carry in our store, our "Woven Wally" dog. Wally arrived at The Nest Egg earlier this year. We had been waiting and waiting for his puppies to arrive and were so excited when they finally did. Wally and his pups are made out of water hyacinth tightly woven by hand. They add such personality to a room as well as great texture.

Here's a picture of Wally in Reese's home as well as a picture of Wally and his puppies at The Nest Egg. Reese put a collar on her Wally . . .hadn't thought about that. I just might need to dress ours up as well!

We only have 2 Wally's left available for adoption along with 6 of his puppies (perhaps Reese needs some?!). They are super sweet and sooo easy to care for!
